BIOGRAPHY
Larry
Casso grew up in colorful New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a graduate of
the John McCrady
Art School,
which emphasized the “Classical”, or Old Masters
method of teaching.
He then worked as an illustrator in the NASA Space Program for fifteen
years.
In 1973 Larry founded the Baton Rouge Fine Arts Academy, where he has
taught over 13,000 students.
Highlights of his career include portrait commissions of two Louisiana
governors,
and being selected by the State of Louisiana to accompany and
personally present
a commissioned painting to
Pope John Paul II at the Vatican in Rome, Italy.
