I hope the following information will assist you in determining the objectives of my course. Tuition is $250.00  per 11 lessons. Supplies are $65.00 for the first series and can be purchased at the Academy.

   FIRST COURSE: The primary objective of the first series is to introduce you to the basics of drawing, shading, composition and color theory. You will work in charcoal and pastels. Two black and white compositions will be executed (16X20 inches matted). A pastel will then be done from one of the charcoal studies.

        SECOND COURSE: The second course emphasizes pencil sketching and an introduction to watercolor. You will learn perspective, pencil technique and their application to landscapes. Your introduction to one-color watercolor at a small scale will teach you control and confidence.

     THIRD COURSE: This course advances you to two-color, three-color and four-color watercolor in a step by step process that builds on the foundation you have already established.

      FOURTH COURSE: You will be further advanced in watercolor skills and complex subject matter. This will be done through study aids and exploring the complete palette of 20 colors .

        The primary objective of the program is to give the student the ability to intelligently complete  a painting from start to finish after these courses. After this the student has an easy transition into oils, acrylics, egg-tempera, portraits or any other direction at an advanced level. The ultimate goal is to give the student the foundation and assistance necessary to pursue their own goals.
